DO NOT BUY

Do not purchase a vehicle from this ‘dealer’. It is on month since purchasing a £7k+ vehicle from them. The engine went within 2 weeks, I then discovered the MOT they said had been placed on the car NEVER took place. I rejected the vehicle and requested a full refund as per my rights within the consumer rights act. I am now informing all other parties of their actions. Save yourself the painful inconvenience and do not buy from them or that site.

I (very unfortunately) purchased a car from SB Motors (which seems to also go by various other names including S B Carsales, West Country Garage, Motor Club, Mytchett Motors, Mytchett Car Sales, Motor Club and The Car Plug to name but a few). To save any confusion, the address of this car dealership is Mytchett Place Building & Yard, Mytchett Place Road, Mytchett, Camberley, Surrey, GU16 6DQ. It’s based in the grounds of a large stately home near Keogh Barracks. There are about 200 cars on this site and there seems to be about 5 businesses all operating from this address. It’s complete chaos – there are cars everywhere you look and you can’t tell who is responsible for which cars as all the staff there seem to help each other to sell the cars so, when you go to view the vehicles, there is no lack of assistance HOWEVER it’s a completely different story when you have a problem with your car once you’ve bought it as no-one picks up the phone or replies to messages & emails. They all cover for one another saying “he’s not here today” or “he’s out of the country” or whatever other BS excuse they can think of to fob you off and get you out of their hair on that particular day… I purchased a car from someone called Billy in April of this year. The advert was found on Auto Trader and the company name was listed as S B Carsales however the name on the receipt is West Country Garage with the address of Motor Club. The car was advertised as having “a full service history” however, once I paid for the car in good faith, they could not back this up with the relevant paperwork – the relevant paperwork has never been provided either. They also didn’t provide me with the relevant documents for a week or so meaning that I couldn’t tax the car for a couple of weeks! The car was sold with a 3 month warranty but what they didn’t tell me was that the garage they use is based in Slough which is a 70 mile round trip from where I live in Surrey. The car had a whole list of things wrong it so, not only did they use all my fuel up taking the car there on two occasions, they parked my car illegally and consequently got 3 parking fines in June which STILL have not been paid. The garage tells me that it was SB Motors that incurred the fines as they didn’t collect the car in time yet SB Motors tell me that it’s the garage that incurred the fines so I’ve been going round in circles for the past 3 months! I've appealed the fines 3 times now with Slough Council and I am now being threatened with a CCJ if they are not paid. Every time I call SB Motors to speak with someone about this situation, they don’t pick up the phone. I’ve visited their site on 3 occasions now and each time I’m fobbed off with various excuses as they all cover for one another! Today, I was told that “Billy is out of the country and won’t be back until Wednesday afternoon”. I quite don’t believe it, but what can I do? I just wish company owners would look at the bigger picture and do the right thing for their customers. I've tried asking nicely time and time again however this bunch of jokers have made it clear that they don’t care whatsoever… other than how much money they can make by selling as many cars as possible to innocent members of the public like me, that is! I just wish I could turn back the clock and never have set eyes on the car advert on Auto Trader. Auto Trader doesn’t care either as they know the situation and are still allowing this company to advertise cars on their site! If you’re looking for a new car: do yourself a favour and go to a reputable business that cares about their customers and do your research before choosing who to buy from. All the positive reviews from this company have clearly been left by their family and friends. Have a closer read and it will soon become apparent that all the GENUINE reviews are NEGATIVE!

As people have said they change the company name, the guy is now calling himself Aaron, various different numbers all mobiles. Car I bought was a Mercedes slk, paid for delivery assumed on a truck it was driven here. Not valeted as promised, 6 empty or part full drinks cans lets in car, old pair of glasses etc, chips central on the drivers side of windscreen, tracking way out, dent in drivers door, vinyl wrap applied to trim on rear not shown in any pics, air con doesn’t work, windscreen washers don’t work. Came with an MOT but at least 2 of these items should have been fails. Messed around constantly I told them I wanted to have the car taken back and refunded or the cost of repairs paid, either been ignored or then told payments will be made and nothing happens. I will now be taking them to court. Avoid at all costs

Reporting this dealer to the police, autotrader, trading standards, the warranty company and taking them to court. Bought an x1 and they delivered it with a faulty gearbox, stinking of smoke, dirty, 4 different tyres, stop start not working and 2 bulbs out. They suggested they'd put a warranty on it after I reported the fault which is fraud. All in writing. I'll get my money back. But avoid these. There's articles about the previous owner in the daily mail

Do yourself a favour & avoid this place like the plague. Do not make the mistake we did of being fooled by the 'good' reviews & promises of first class customer service on their website. This outfit is a repeat rogue trader, who has changed location, & the company & their personal name to avoid the truth being seen. See the following reviews for their current outfit: https://www.cardealerreviews.co.uk/dealership/mytchett-car-sales-camberley-surrey-england & the below article to give some history: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8778829/Downfall-car-dealer-sold-death-traps-Chancer-forged-court-papers-refused-pay-refunds.html#comments Google Ahmed Al-Waheeb (Aka 'Alex'), EMC Car Sales, Chobham Central Garage for their previous businesses, showing history of underhand behaviour & unsafe sales. They are not forthcoming in their sales tactics for a reason. When we collected a Hyundai Getz from Mytchett First Cars the carpets, were damp, particularly in the front footwells. We queried this & we told by Joseph that the car had just had a valet (although clearly not a professional one). We asked if we could bring the car back if there were any issues & were told this would not be a problem. Within the first two weeks we noticed a slow puncture on front right tyre. We took the car to Kwik fit who found that the tyre had been driven on when flat & was unsafe to drive on, due to wear on the tyre facing the underside of the car. The alloy was also damaged. We were told my partner could have had the tyre blowout on the 40 mile trip back home, along the A3. We then found that the space saver tyre had never been changed (since 2006) & were advised against driving long distances on it. The other tyres were also old & overdue to be replaced. We contacted Mytchett First Cars via email & received a response from 'Alex' who was wholly unapologetic, rude & offered to collect the car to repair it, but at a collection cost to us of £150 - this we disputed as we were in our rights for the issue to be resolved by the dealer. We asked for the costs to be covered to replace the tyre & refurb the alloy (£214) but were only offered £150, as any more would eat into their profit. We carried out further online research & unfortunately found reviews of customers taking cars back to Mytchett for repair, only to find the issue bodged & not resolved. Mytchett First Cars state they provide an in house warranty, but do not back this up with any paperwork (nor provide any invoices for supposed oil changes etc) We asked for the car to be collected for a full refund but again were advised this would be at a cost to ourselves. 'Alex' dragged the facade out for 3 months in which time we also found the car leaks when it rains (hence the wet footwells), the AC stopped working & the CD player does not read CD's. We reported this to Alex but were ignored. We also did not receive the V5 & on contacting the DVLA found the change of details were never sent to them by Mytchett First Cars. We are now stuck with an unusable car that we will have to sell at a large loss.

Total con men and are associated with con men/ other garages that have been involved with watchdog. Had issues with this garage from the very start. Was told that the owner would feel comfortable with his daughter driving this car bought but it was completely dangerous and I was never able to drive it. Went through so many issues from the very start including the car not starting when we drove it away, and soon realised when we were looking at it we were never able to turn it on the staff would start it and drive it to us so there was clearly an issue. This was ongoing with many other issues. They were very reluctant to help and would keep it on their grounds for weeks so we couldn’t take it further whilst it was with them. The owner and his staff are so rude and would avoid us when we wanted to take things further. Honestly do not fall into their trap. Buy a car anywhere else. As a person who was buying their first car please don’t throw your money down the drain as that is what I did.
